 For Security Officers 

    

The California State Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) and Bureau of Security & Investigative Services BSIS) has set requirements for any person desiring to carry an exposed firearm while on duty. This course is designed for security guards, armored car personnel, armed alarm response agents, and private investigators.  Participants will be instructed in basic weapons safety, legal and ethical aspects, ballistics, basic weapon fundamentals, marksmanship and qualification. 

  • Range fees and targets will be provided in the cost along with all state required paperwork.
  • Participants are encouraged to provide their own equipment due to familiarity. Your  equipment should include; Duty Belt, Firearm with holster, three magazines or speed loaders, and a carrying system.  
  • Add .00 for each additional caliber, plus .00 gun rental, and .00 per bag of ammo. 

All firearms and ammunition are required to be inspected by one of the firearms training staff.

An approved form of proof of citizenship is required in addition to the required documentation necessary for attendance. Documents such as a birth certificate, green card, DD214, etc. are approved forms of proof of citizenship.
