My friends Wazzub! As if there was any better way to open this review. WAZZUB may be a joke, it may be hype, and it may be a pie in the sky much ado about nothing. There is not any denying it’s become viral though.
WAZZUB Is Being Compared to Bing, Yahoo and Facebook itself
Of course those are lofty goals and may be completely delusional. Marketing is a provocative force though and 3 million have registered already.
So what the heck is WAZZUB? This is something no one is sure about. This is the interesting aspect. The cheesy, amateurish marketing that pervades the web about this start up has done an undeniably good job of spreading the word. And this is something we could learn from actually.
The best we can tell, is that WAZZUB is hoping to be the central home page for the internet, where people can easily access their search engine, social media, news and tailored advertising. So it’s really similar to what already exists.
Wazzub Wants To Share Profits
The angle is they want to share revenue with people. The plan with Wazzub is to allow all pre-launch members to earn money off of advertisers on the website. Well that sounds good to me! The big question will be how much money can people really make, if there are millions of prelaunch members? This will depend on the long-term prospects of the platform.
The potential is there. Just ask Facebook or Google. The one factor that makes me a bit iffy on the whole thing is, will people continue to flock to a website that they know a bunch of members are making money off of ? And will it actually be as useful as the designers are promising?
One thing is for sure, it will be a work in progress. Supposedly 2 million in research has been spent on the project.
WAZZUB Is Going Viral, Like It Or Otherwise
The truth for Wazzub is that it has gone viral, and continues to gain momentum. So perhaps it will likely be a big dud, or a wonderful explosion. In April they will release the beta product. It doesn’t cost anything so I figured I’d get an account at least.
One last point is that many folks have sneered about the choice of name here. That’s funny because you’d think people would remember Yahoo or Google, duh! You’d hear giggles about google all the time. Now these sites are part of our dictionaries. Wazzub is only as funny as Google really.
